Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and give a clear final recommendation to balance physical and academic education. The examples about football and school subjects are relevant, and you identify benefits such as fitness, knowledge and confidence. However, the discussion is only partial: the academic side is mainly described as improving careers and confidence, while the physical-education argument’s link to problem-solving is asserted rather than explained. The position also becomes clearest only in the conclusion. The response is 43 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each benefit with a fuller example and state your view clearly in the introduction as well as the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Topic signals such as “On the other hand” help readers follow the shift between arguments, and examples are placed with the relevant points. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, “However” does not express a contrast, and “As a result” introduces a claim that does not clearly follow from the example. The conclusion’s “Although … However” construction also makes the relationship between ideas confusing. Improve progression by making each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence, and use linking words only when their logical relationship is accurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “physical education,” “problem solving skills,” “critical thinking,” and “careers growth,” so the main ideas can be understood. There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “maintain a balance.” However, vocabulary is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form and spelling errors make the writing less natural, for example “considerable important,” “regular involves,” “contents to speak,” and “theoritical.” Some key terms are repeated, particularly “students” and “confident.” Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships and checking spelling and word forms; for instance, use “academic subjects” and “physical activity” naturally, and choose precise terms for the benefits you describe.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast in the conclusion and explanations introduced by “This is because.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “physical education create students,” “when children plays football,” and the fragment “which required for careers growth.” The opening also begins a new sentence with lowercase “while,” and punctuation is often missing around sentence boundaries. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check singular/plural agreement and verb forms. For example, “Physical education keeps students active” is clearer and grammatically controlled.
