Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are different opinions regarding the importance of physical education classes. Some people give equal impotance to physical as well as academic activities. This essay will delineate both of the views along with my opinion regarding the importance of physical education classes.
On the one hand, a health body has healthy mind. Physical activities which are performed during these classes are a very good source to keep bodies of the students fit and active. Moreover, this education is not only important for our physical health but also for our mental health. Additionally, when children play games in groups, they learn importance of team work, discipline and punctuality in their lives. These activities teach them time management. When students spend their time in these activites, they have not time left for the use of unnecessary social media applications.
On the other hand, a few people believe that children should pay more attention to their studies. In first place, they consider these activites as the an optiona or less impotant thing. In their view point, these activities are risky because students sometimes get injured during games. Secondly, students spend a lot of their time in playing games and get diverted from their actual goal regarding studies. Some people think that academics is important in their future development so children have no need to focus on these additional activites.
To sum up all, although a lot of time is require for these extra curricular activities. Practice, physical fitness, and sound health are essential needs for the participants. But in my opinion, this education is very impotant for sound physical and mental health of children.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for physical education, especially in the introduction and conclusion. Relevant reasons include fitness, mental health, teamwork and the risk that sport may distract from academic goals. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for example, the claim that group games teach punctuality and time management would be stronger with a brief explanation or example. The academic-focused view is also less fully developed; injury and distraction are mentioned, but the importance of academic learning for future opportunities is only briefly stated. Develop each side more evenly and make your final position more precise—for instance, explain how schools can balance sport with academic study.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the discussion. Within paragraphs, however, the progression can feel mechanical because several points are added with “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “Secondly” without showing how they relate. Some references are also unclear, such as “these activities” and “this education,” which could refer to physical education or extracurricular activities. Improve cohesion by grouping related reasons, using clearer references, and adding links that explain cause and effect rather than relying mainly on sequencing phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “physical health,” “mental health,” “team work,” “discipline,” and “future development.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling reduce precision: “a health body” is not the natural expression, while “view point,” “activites,” “impotance,” and “optiona” contain errors. Phrases such as “actual goal regarding studies” and “additional activities” are also vague or awkward in context. Aim for more natural academic collocations and check spelling carefully; precise wording will help distinguish your arguments about health, learning and school priorities.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “when,” “because” and “although.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “a health body has healthy mind” has problems with articles and sentence structure, and “they have not time left” uses an incorrect construction. In “they consider these activities as the an optiona,” the article pattern is faulty, while “a lot of time is require” has an incorrect verb form. There are also punctuation and spacing issues, such as the missing space after “studies.” Practise accurate article use, verb forms and sentence boundaries while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
