There is an ongoing debate between the importance of physical education and academics. Some people says that prioritising academics is important than physical training in schools and some believes otherwise.
Prioritising physical educations are essential for the overall development of an individual. Health is a crucial element for wellbeing. By prioritising physical fitness there are many other benefits. This will helps to boost concentration, immunity and moreover to create a healthy brain and mind. Starting a healthy way of living at this age will promote children to stick to this as they grow. Particularly school age children are easier to mend and built into a proper way of living. Additionly, this will also aid to identify their own strengths and weaknesses.
On the other hand, most of the people are in terms with giving importance to academics in school. These people believe that for a better future education and higher grades are important. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear opinion: the body paragraphs explain the benefits of physical education and academic achievement, while the conclusion recommends giving both equal importance. Relevant points include fitness supporting concentration and education helping students compete for jobs. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that physical education helps children identify their strengths and weaknesses is not illustrated, and the discussion of academic success relies mainly on grades and employers’ expectations. Develop these points with a specific example or a clearer explanation of how each benefit affects children. Your position is clear, but a more balanced and fully supported discussion would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion stating your position. This makes the discussion easy to follow, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In my opinion” signal changes in direction. The ideas within each paragraph are generally grouped appropriately. To strengthen progression further, make the links between claims more explicit; for instance, the move from health benefits to identifying strengths in the physical-education paragraph feels abrupt. Some linking language is also repetitive, particularly repeated uses of “will help” and “on the other hand.” Use a wider range of references and transitions, and ensure the conclusion follows smoothly from the arguments rather than introducing the idea of balance only at the end.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “overall development,” “concentration,” “immunity,” “academic excellence,” and “compete in the job market.” These choices communicate the main ideas and show attempts to use topic-specific language. However, several word forms, spellings, and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “physical educations,” “knowledgable,” “powerful minds,” and “in terms with giving importance.” Repetition of “important,” “future,” and “help” also limits flexibility. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, “physical education,” “agree with giving priority to,” and “a skilled workforce” would express your intended meanings more precisely and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional-style idea “Starting a healthy way of living at this age will promote children to stick to this as they grow.” Most sentences remain understandable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “Some people says,” “This will helps,” “Prioritising educational aspects will helps,” and “both physical education and academics are importance.” There are also problems with plural forms and sentence boundaries, as in “academically intelligent childrens” and “So that the kida will learn.” Review subject–verb agreement, singular and plural nouns, and how to connect dependent clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied ideas easier to read.
