Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people argue that physical education classes are plays an importnat role in childs education. While other believe that school should focus on academic subjects. In my view practical skill essential for everyday life but academic subjects are important for students for higher education and careers.
On the one hand, school should teach students practical skills to make them independent. This is beacuse of student learn to manage everyday responibilites. They can solve problem without depending on others. They can learn how to manage money and avoid unnecessary spending. For example, cooking skills and managing monthly budget can be useful if student move to diferent city. As a result, They can become independent to take decision in their life.
However, Academic subjects are essential because they provide knowledge and prepare students for future education. This is mainly beacuse students need education for further studies and professional jobs. Subjects such as mathematics, science and langauge required academic knowldege. It develop communication and problem solving skills. For instance, If student want to become a doctor they need clear concepts and deep knowledge from schools then they able to get admission in medical college. Conseqently, academic education give students need the foundation for their future careers.
In conclusion, physical education is responsible for making students independent and self steam although academic subjects required for higher studies and to develop a professional skills. In my opinion, If school incorporate both academic and phsyical education wisely then its a best approach for students to crate them confident and independent to take decision for thier future growth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both sides and give a clear preference for combining physical education with academic study, so the response addresses the main parts of the prompt. However, the discussion only partly answers the specific contrast: the first body paragraph focuses on practical life skills such as cooking and budgeting, rather than explaining the value of physical education itself, such as fitness, health, or teamwork. The academic argument is more directly relevant, with the example of a future doctor, but its benefits are still briefly explained. To strengthen the response, develop the physical-education viewpoint directly and explain why schools should allocate time to it alongside academic subjects.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “However,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. Some links between ideas are mechanical, however, and the progression within paragraphs is occasionally unclear. For example, the first paragraph moves from practical skills to independence and then to budgeting, without clearly connecting these points to physical education. The conclusion also combines several ideas in a long sentence, making the final recommendation less clear. Use topic sentences that directly match each side of the question, and make each example explicitly support its paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for education and future opportunities, including “professional jobs,” “further studies,” “problem solving skills,” and “foundation for their future careers.” This is enough to communicate the general ideas, but the range is limited and several word-choice, form, and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “self steam” for self-esteem, “langauge,” “knowldege,” and “responibilites.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “take decision” and “give students need the foundation.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations as complete phrases. More precise vocabulary about physical education—such as fitness, wellbeing, and teamwork—would also help address the topic directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“if student want to become a doctor”) and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, errors in sentence structure and basic grammar are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “While other believe” lacks a complete main clause, and “It develop communication” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and plural forms are also often missing, as in “if student move to diferent city” and “academic subjects are important for students for higher education.” Practise building complete sentences with accurate subjects and verbs, then check articles, agreement, and punctuation before submitting.
