Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that physical education classes are an important part of a child's education. Others believe that it is more important to focus on academics during school time.Physical education clasess such as yoga ,aerobic and zumba help to maintain a good health and keep active however academics studies help tobuild a strong career .Both are important and have their own benefits in children's life.I believe physical classes are more important. In my essay i will discuss both aspects .
First few people assume that physical education classes are an important part of a child 's education by building a strong body with active mind .For example if kids play karate and also participate in other phyical activities .They have very sharp mind and more confident rather than the kids who are just studying books . Exercises make mind more alert by regulating the blood supply in our body .
Second other people who believe that academic education should be prioritized. They have different mode of thinking .For example those people assume if kids spend all of their time on studies .It will help them to build a bright future .People believe if they divide their attention it cause distraction from their aim but it is not true.
After explaining both points ,i believe kids should focus on physical exercise classes. With the help of healthy mind and confidence kids can build their bright future .They have more opportunities to explore rather than focusing on just academic pathways .Kids who are physically active are more attentive .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a clear preference for physical education: “I believe physical classes are more important.” The examples about karate, confidence, and exercise helping alertness are relevant, while the academic view is represented through the idea that study can support a bright future. However, both sides are explained briefly, and the academic argument is not developed with a specific example or qualification. The conclusion repeats your preference rather than drawing the discussion together. The response is 220 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum; 36 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each view with fuller reasoning and a concrete example, then explain why your preferred balance is more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing phrases such as “First,” “Second,” and “After explaining both points” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links feel mechanical or unclear. For instance, “First few people assume” and “Second other people” do not connect the ideas naturally, while the opening runs several points together without clear sentence boundaries. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than synthesising them. Use clear topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and vary linking expressions so the organisation feels more continuous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “physical education,” “academic education,” “confident,” and “attentive.” There are also attempts at more specific terms, such as “regulating the blood supply.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “academics studies,” “bright future,” and “divide their attention it cause distraction.” Spelling and spacing problems such as “clasess,” “phyical,” and “tobuild” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall argument, but they make expression less precise. Build a wider set of natural collocations for health, learning, and career outcomes, and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “Exercises make mind more alert by regulating the blood supply in our body.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine clauses often contain errors that make reading difficult. In “People believe if they divide their attention it cause distraction from their aim,” the conditional structure and verb agreement are faulty. Other examples include “it is more important to focus on academics during school time.Physical education” with missing sentence punctuation, and “kids should focus on physical exercise classes” following inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation elsewhere. Articles, possessives, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise accurate complex sentences using “because,” “although,” and “if,” and check each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and ending punctuation.
