Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of foreign language study and the opinion on its importance in education. The ideas are relevant, focusing on career advancement and global communication. However, the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second and third paragraphs, where the focus on 'career' and 'business' overlaps significantly. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting examples, such as the influencer comparison, are slightly simplistic. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to provide more distinct, well-developed arguments that explore different facets of the topic, such as cognitive development or cultural empathy, rather than focusing primarily on professional gain.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'In result, to learn the overseas languages plays key role'. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the internal cohesion within sentences could be improved to ensure a smoother, more natural reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'bilingual', 'polyglot', 'globalization', and 'tenders'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward collocations, such as 'engaging era' (likely meaning 'modern era'), 'crack the deals', and 'roam efficiently'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the student struggles with word forms, such as 'start learn' instead of 'start learning'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the one of the main', 'the language from different part'), subject-verb agreement ('there are numerous benefits for knowing the language... It will easy'), and sentence construction ('the translator knows as more and more languages'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors throughout. The student attempts complex structures, but these often contain errors that slightly impede the flow, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding the intended message.
