In today's world of globalization, people tend to learn distinct languages. In many schools or educational institutions, learning foreign languages are required to be learn by students. There are numerous benefits like expand the scope of growth, foreign exposure and to learn more about different culture of various countries.
One of the most significant benefits of foreign language study is that it expand the scope of growth. It is based on the belief that an individual who is bilingual always has various preferences while applying for jobs. For instance, multi-national companies always look for the candidate who can speak more than one language, because there number of clients are foreigners. Therefore, employees need to interact with them, they always look for someone who can speak foreign language fluently with goof pronunciation.
Another benefit of learning foreign language is the opportunity of foreign exposure . Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying benefits and expressing a clear opinion on the importance of language study. The ideas are relevant, such as job prospects and cultural adaptation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'foreign exposure' is slightly repetitive and could have been expanded with more specific examples beyond just 'moving abroad'. The discussion of demerits is a good addition to provide a balanced view, but the explanation of why children might feel 'disconnected' from their roots remains a bit superficial. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully supported with more detailed reasoning or illustrative examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'One of the most significant benefits', 'Another benefit', and 'Undoubtedly', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother to improve the flow of ideas. For example, the connection between the job market and the need for 'goof pronunciation' (good pronunciation) is a bit abrupt. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, but the essay would benefit from a more varied range of linking words and better internal cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'globalization', 'bilingual', and 'multi-national companies'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'expand the scope of growth' (which is slightly unnatural) and 'goof pronunciation' (a spelling error). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that less common vocabulary is used accurately in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the quality of the writing. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('learning foreign languages are required', 'it expand the scope'), article misuse, and awkward phrasing ('might be they want to move abroad'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While these errors do not prevent communication, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, while also attempting to vary sentence structures with more complex, error-free constructions.
