Student answer (Band 5.5)

The role of students in studying overseas tongue in educational sectors is widely debated, with many people claiming that the benefits it offers are no match with their drawbacks . However, i entirely accept this and i will explain why in this essay.

Initiating with the merits of learning foreign language for kids. The primary one is that by taking knowledge about another countries language help them in future because many kids are planning to to go to foreign countries in future for their further studies which is very important them to learn that country language with the help of which they can commumiciate that country masses. Beside that it is also imprtant for them to run their bussiness in future with foreign countries.

Another aspect of this ongoing matter is better livelihood. To explain this, many childrens may plan to settle in another another for that it is required to know about their mother tongue which will be helpful to start their life. For example, a survey conducted by foreign department in 2019 revealed that 70% of childrens settled in other overseas lands after completing their studies. According to me as well teaching foreign language in schools is a good decision and it should be the part of very class syllabus.

In view of the discussion outlined above, one can conclude that the benefits of tahing knowledge about other country language has more positive impact on childrens life and they can choose to study abroad if they know about their language

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of language study and the opinion on its importance in education. However, the development is limited. The arguments regarding future business and settling abroad are relevant but lack depth and specific, logical elaboration. The introduction is slightly confusing, as you state you accept the claim that benefits are 'no match with their drawbacks' but then argue entirely in favor of language study, which creates a contradiction. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is consistent and provide more detailed explanations for your points rather than repeating the same idea about moving abroad.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as 'Initiating with the merits' and 'Beside that'. Referencing is also problematic; for example, the phrase 'another another' in the second body paragraph is unclear. While the essay is coherent enough to be understood, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the sentence structures hinder the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'overseas tongue', 'commumiciate that country masses', and 'foreign department'. Spelling errors are frequent (e.g., 'imprtant', 'bussiness', 'tahing'). You rely on a limited range of vocabulary, often repeating the same words within the same sentence or paragraph. To improve, you should focus on learning collocations and more precise academic terminology related to education and global communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence construction. For example, 'by taking knowledge about another countries language help them' is grammatically incorrect. Many sentences are simple or contain structural errors that make them difficult to parse. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are often faulty. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that prepositions are used correctly.
