Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of language study and the opinion on its importance in education. However, the development is somewhat limited. While you mention job opportunities and academic requirements, the arguments remain quite general and could benefit from more nuanced exploration. For instance, the discussion on cognitive benefits or cultural understanding is missing, which would have provided a more comprehensive answer. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting ideas are somewhat repetitive, focusing heavily on employment rather than the broader educational value. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning or specific, illustrative examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the sentence fragment 'In conclusion. i believe that,'. Furthermore, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the first paragraph where the phrase 'opposites are still not in same side' is confusing. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main ideas clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific terms like 'communication barriers', 'multilingual', and 'international institution'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'It is argues' instead of 'It is argued', and 'multilingual is a skill to must have' instead of 'multilingualism is a must-have skill'. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that you use the correct word forms. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated synonyms for common words like 'important' or 'help' would also enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Its always plays'), article usage (e.g., 'foreign language is must'), and punctuation errors, such as the incorrect use of periods within sentences. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. To improve, you should practice proofreading your work to catch basic errors in tense and sentence structure. Aim to incorporate more complex sentence forms, such as conditional or relative clauses, while ensuring they are grammatically accurate.
