Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 89 words. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the ideas are severely underdeveloped. While you introduce the topic and state a position, you fail to provide the necessary depth, examples, or a conclusion required for a complete essay. To improve, you must expand on your arguments with specific examples and ensure you cover all parts of the prompt, including the benefits and your personal opinion, in sufficient detail to meet the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at organization with an introduction and the start of a body paragraph. However, due to the extreme brevity of the text, there is no clear overall progression or logical development of ideas. Cohesive devices are minimal, and the paragraphing is incomplete. To achieve a higher score, you need to structure your essay with clear, distinct paragraphs that follow a logical flow, using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') to connect your ideas more effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'whlie' instead of 'while', 'grammer' instead of 'grammar', and 'complusory' instead of 'compulsory'. The phrase 'plethora of benefits' is a good attempt at a more sophisticated collocation, but the overall range is insufficient to express complex ideas. To improve, focus on expanding your vocabulary related to education and language learning, and pay closer attention to spelling and word choice to ensure your writing is more precise and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The text contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Examples include 'student's life' (should be 'a student's life' or 'students' lives'), 'is must' (should be 'is a must'), and 'learn new language' (should be 'learn a new language'). There are also issues with sentence structure and punctuation. While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of accuracy and the limited range of structures used hinder the overall quality. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
