Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some schools follows curriculum which has one or more foreign languages to study while others follows curriculum which does not include foreign language as a subject. In my opinion, learning any foreign language will help children to communicate easily when they travel to other countries in the future.
The major benefit of learning a foreign language is to improve communication with other foreign natives for job or studying abroad . For example, English is a foreign language in India. Most of the Indian schools have English as a subject. This is because English has now become a global language. Therefore, it is very essential to learn English for a better job or for higher studies outside India. Thus, it is better to learn English from school to understand more practical usage of the language.
Learning a language in the childhood helps to grasps things faster when compared to old age. Therefore, including a foreign language as a subject in the school helps students to get a proper systematic approach to a language . That is, school makes proper curriculum for each subject. So, children can easily understand syllabus according to their class they belong. For instance, school teaches grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary etc. according to the syllabus only. Thus it is easy for students to follow.
Overall, foreign language study is an important part of education . This will help students in the future for their job and higher education. Also, learning languages in the early stage of study will help them to understand better.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of foreign language study and the opinion on its importance in education. The ideas are relevant, focusing on communication and the cognitive advantages of early learning. However, the development is somewhat limited. While the example of English in India is clear, the explanation of why a 'systematic approach' is beneficial remains a bit repetitive and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of your arguments with more detailed analysis or broader examples. The position is clear throughout, but the overall development is basic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Therefore,' 'For instance,' and 'Thus,' which help the flow. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally slightly unclear, such as in the phrase 'according to the syllabus only.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the cohesion of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'curriculum,' 'systematic approach,' and 'global language.' However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of slightly unnatural collocation or word choice, such as 'foreign natives' (which is redundant) and 'grasps things faster' (should be 'grasp'). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. The current range is sufficient to communicate, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some schools follows,' 'others follows'), article usage ('in the childhood'), and awkward phrasing ('according to the class they belong'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are noticeable and occur with enough frequency to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article placement would significantly improve your accuracy.
