Student answer (Band 6.0)
Foreign language is the language that is not spoken in your country.Children should be able to study diverse language, this is because you do not know where you might find yours elf later on in life. learning language help promote culture, heritage and educational development of a particular Country. Foreign language for example (going getting a scholarship to study in france and you have little or no knowledge about french would give you difficulty expressing yourself), and the contrary if you have studied earlier about that language you would not be on a tight spot.
Furthermore studying of foreign language helps build mutual relationship between two people that are not of the same Country, It brings connection, ability to relate and improve growth. studying foreign language can bring job opportunities from other countries, for example (China have a Company in nigeria and you can speak Chinese more fluently, this can grant you the job on a spot. giving you higher chance for employment
I strongly agree that learning foreign language is benefical to all, though some educational system feels language study is not a requirement, I believe it should be, because it encourage growth and pave way for success.
In conclusion, I believe foreign language should be in our educational system because it would enlighten our child to see things beyond our perspective and relate with neigbouring countries,it brings peace and harmony, create job opportunities, create safe atmosphere.
Learning different foreign language ranging from Spanish, German, Chinese gives you better knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of language study and the opinion on its importance in education. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding job opportunities is relevant but lacks depth. The explanation of benefits is repetitive, focusing heavily on 'growth' and 'connection' without exploring cognitive or academic advantages. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting examples, such as the mention of a company in Nigeria, are slightly informal and could be more effectively integrated. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and varied examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' to signal shifts in the text. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition into the example about France. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal structure of the paragraphs needs more sophisticated linking to ensure that ideas are connected more naturally rather than just listed.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'growth', and 'connection'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'yours elf' (spelling error), 'on a tight spot' (idiomatic error), and 'on a spot' (incorrect usage). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary limits the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to education and global communication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'learning language help'), punctuation errors (e.g., missing spaces after commas), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'going getting a scholarship'). While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors like article usage, verb tense consistency, and proper sentence punctuation.
