Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some educational systems, children are required to study one more foreign languages. In other, foreign language study is not required. For my point of view study any foreign language is a plus point as it is very benefitial for them in future jobs even for future traveling. learning foreign language can open new opportunity in various job positions even employers prefer an employe who can communicate in more than one language. I am from India, I have done B.SCE in Hospitality &. Hotel Management in this study we need to have basic understanding of French as many international recipes name is French and various term are in French. It was very hard to learn even few words of a another language but after learning basic French it opened many possibilities for me I was able to land a great job in hotel industries and even after I moved to Canada learning French help me to find even greater job here and also it even helping me to apply permanent residency in Canada. my experienced taught me that if I had learned more than one foreign language than I might have been more successful in my life that's why having foreign language study is an important part of education.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt by discussing the benefits of language learning and expressing a clear opinion. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments provided. While the personal example from your experience in the hospitality industry is relevant, the ideas are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail. To reach a higher band, you must expand on your points to meet the length requirement and provide more comprehensive explanations for your claims.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear paragraph structure, as it is presented as a single block of text. This makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. While there is a basic attempt to link ideas, the use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes mechanical. For example, the transition between your personal experience and your concluding opinion is abrupt. To improve, you should organise your response into clear paragraphs (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences and ideas more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors (e.g., 'benefitial', 'employe', 'experienced' instead of 'experience') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'plus point' and 'hotel industries'. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or less common vocabulary limits your score. Focusing on learning collocations and ensuring correct spelling of common professional terms will help you convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include missing articles (e.g., 'in other', 'in hotel industries'), subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., 'learning French help me'), and punctuation mistakes, such as run-on sentences that lack proper conjunctions or full stops. These errors occasionally impede the flow of reading. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring consistent verb tenses, and using a wider variety of complex structures with greater accuracy.
