Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether young people should learn different overseas languages. However, others think abroad languages are not crucial for learning. In my opinion, language skills are extremely significant for pupils for their better future career opportunities. This essay will discuss why and how an another languages are important for learning.
There are numerous benefits of learning languages for children. One of the primary reason is it boosts the interpersonal skills of pupils. In other words, if children learn different languages they become more independent and can talk to others confidently. Moreover, knowledge of other languages helps students to their future career. They can easily communicate and understand the foreign citizens. For example, an international student who live in a abroad country, if he deeply know their language it would be great opportunity to him to talk with them. This is because it creates more opportunities for jobs. As a result, having a linguistic skills makes a person's better future.
I strongly agree that foreign language study is an crucial part of a pupils growth. Firstly, it is easy to understand individuals who belong to other culture and county. They can talk without any kind of hesitation with them. In addition, with the knowledge of an additional language people can easily understand other culture and become open-minded. Which can prevent discrimination of individuals. For instance, if students learn Spanish they can easily understand their culture and traditions. Therefore, it creates love and kindness in each other countries.
In conclusion, there are plenty of benefits of learning new language which is not provide only confident and independence but also give knowledge about other cultures and opportunity of better career plans.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the benefits of language study and the opinion on its importance in education. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the points about 'career opportunities' and 'understanding other cultures' are mentioned in both body paragraphs without significant new depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more specific, nuanced examples rather than restating the same benefits. The ideas are relevant, but the overall development is slightly superficial.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' to link sentences. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Which can prevent discrimination of individuals' starting a new sentence fragment. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'their' in 'understand their culture' when the antecedent (e.g., 'Spanish speakers') is not explicitly defined. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing like 'better future' and 'talk to others'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'abroad languages' (instead of 'foreign languages'), 'an another languages' (grammatically incorrect), and 'an crucial part' (incorrect article usage). While the meaning is generally clear, the range is limited, and the errors in word formation and collocation are frequent enough to prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('One of the primary reason is'), article usage ('an another', 'an crucial'), and awkward phrasing ('if he deeply know their language'). There are also punctuation and sentence structure issues, such as the sentence fragment starting with 'Which can prevent...'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently throughout the text, which is characteristic of the Band 5.5 to 6.0 range.
