Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt regarding the potential benefits of foreign language study and whether it is an important part of education. However, the development of ideas is severely hindered by confusing expression and repetition. While the student mentions examples like Canada, India, and Gujarat, the connection between these examples and the arguments is often obscure. The position on whether foreign language study is important is expressed in general terms, stating that 'its important part of educations' and highlighting 'profit and new attracting' benefits, but the ideas remain underdeveloped and difficult to follow. Therefore, this falls under Band 4 due to the limited and unclear development of ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into four paragraphs, which shows an attempt at structural organisation. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by incoherent sentences and poor logical sequencing. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively, such as 'In addition, the different types in Canada' and 'To conclude, the different chindren in cities and country'. Referencing is unclear throughout the text, making it very difficult for the reader to follow the train of thought from one sentence to the next. Overall, the information and ideas are not arranged coherently enough to satisfy higher band requirements, aligning best with Band 4 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent misuse of words and collocation errors. Examples such as 'different world and country', 'profit and new attracting', and 'other options languages' demonstrate a severe limitation in lexical range and control. Word formation and word choice errors are present in almost every sentence, which frequently strains the reader and impedes clear communication. While the student attempts to use some topical vocabulary related to education and countries, the execution is incorrect, placing this performance firmly at Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammatical structure of the essay is extremely limited and error-prone. The response lacks error-free sentences, and complex structures are almost entirely absent or faultily constructed, as seen in 'In some educational systems are required for the children more other languages'. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, word order, verb forms, and punctuation throughout the text. These errors often distort the meaning and cause significant difficulty for the reader to understand the intended message, corresponding to the Band 4 descriptors.
