IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some educational systems, children are required to study one or more foreign languages. In others, foreign language study is not a requirement. What are the potential benefits of foreign language study? 

Do you think foreign language study is an important part of education?

Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 4.0)

In some education systems , learning a foriegn langauge is compislory while, in others students can choose whether they want do or not. but i blevie that forgien language study is important part of eduction.

Fristly learning a new language is very important for students beacuse its inhance the confidence of the student and they learn more things and also improve their communcitaion skiils amd also learn new vaocbolary. morver thry can know others tradtions and culture its is also helful for travlleimnh somewhere. many company prefer the employe who can speak english in the fuleent way

fopr exmaple i learned english as my seceond language firstly i face some problems to speak but after some pracrice i can beaome more frequent in english. enlish help in my study and make me more confident

While the writer attempts some less common terms like 'confidence' and 'tradtions', the pervasive spelling mistakes and limited range place this firmly in the lower bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The grammatical range is extremely limited, relying primarily on simple sentences strung together with coordinating conjunctions like 'and' or run-on structures without proper punctuation or capitalization (e.g., starting sentences with lowercase letters like 'but i blevie').
