Student answer (Band 5.0)
Everyone have different language due to region differences and own country languages. In educational systems languages plays important role not just to make their educational standard higher rather than making a standard barrier for all the students
Foreign language is like a water just think you needs water to survive just like that you need to know about foreign language to lived with other people because no one lived there entire life to be a quite person.
From the reflection of my opinion, I completely agreed that foreign language study in an important part of education. Children are required to learn different languages its give them confidence to deals with other people also it is important to learn other language specially english one because this is the global language that everyone speaks to communicate with every person rather he/she belongs to any country. For example: I am learning english language to communicate other people, to get a better job because the foreign language will helps you to be fitter in any kind of gathering also it plays an important role to getting a better job.
On the other hand, somehow foreign language not playing a important role the main reason is that you lived in your own country in which a standard language is urdu and it will speak anywhere rather you are in any province or any city of the country also if you are in other country and you lived with the same nationality person with which you don't have any language barrier

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing potential benefits, such as communication and job opportunities, and clearly states a personal position that foreign language study is an important part of education. However, the development of ideas is limited and sometimes repetitive, particularly in the later part of the essay. The counter-argument regarding local languages in the final paragraph is somewhat underdeveloped and unclear. Examples are provided, such as learning English for jobs, but they lack depth. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, placing this performance at a Band 5.5 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay demonstrates some organization with basic transitional markers like 'On the other hand' and 'For example'. However, there is a distinct lack of clear overall progression and paragraphing is poorly handled, with the main body running into long, confusing blocks of text. Referencing is frequently unclear, for example in sentences like 'Foreign language is like a water just think you needs water to survive just like that...', which makes the flow unnatural and difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are often inadequate or inaccurate. These features align with a Band 5.0 score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is relatively limited and repetitive, with frequent word choice and collocation errors such as 'to be a quite person' instead of 'quiet person' and 'fitter in any kind of gathering' instead of 'fit in'. There are also basic spelling issues like 'urgu' for Urdu. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'educational systems' and 'global language', inaccuracies in form and meaning occasionally impede communication. The lexical range is minimally adequate for the task, fitting the Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to run-on sentences and missing punctuation. Examples include 'Everyone have different language due to region differences...' and '...foreign language study in an important part...'. Grammatical errors—such as subject-verb agreement issues and incorrect verb tenses ('will helps you')—occur frequently and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Punctuation is largely neglected throughout the essay. These characteristics reflect a Band 5.0 performance.
