Student answer (Band 5.5)

It was discovered that some children are required to study one or more foreign languages in their educational system while it is not a requirement to study foreign language in some other educational systems because they did not find it pertinent. I am of the opinion that children should study more than one languages in an educational system.

Considering the fact language is the basic part in communication, it is necassary that a child should study one or more foreign languages in school which a side from his/her native language can be a gate way for more career opportunity for him/her. Progresively, studying one or more foreign languages will help one in cutting short the language barreir issue whenever him/her travels to a foreign country.

Talking about its career aspect, mastering of one or more foreign languages stands a better chance of getting good job opportunitie to a foreign land with its one language. For instance, in a situation where one or two people are in a job hunt in a foreign land, and one is fluent enough with their language while the rest do not. Certainly, the one that has the familiality with their language stands a better chance of getting the job than the thise than are not.

Neccesarily, being familiar with foreign language gives one the sense of belonging and relaxation when one found himself in a foreign land.

Conclusively, it is pertinent for a child to study one or more language in an educational system because its advantages surpasses those that did not take part in studying foreing language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both the benefits of learning another language and whether it belongs in education, and your position is clear: you believe children should study foreign languages. The career example and the point about feeling more comfortable abroad are relevant. However, the benefits are not developed equally: the career advantage receives an example, while the communication and travel points are stated briefly, and the conclusion mainly repeats your view. The opening also speculates that some systems do not require languages because they consider them irrelevant, which is not established by the task. To strengthen the response, explain how language learning creates specific opportunities and develop each reason with a clear, realistic example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, paragraphs on communication and employment, a further point about comfort abroad, and a conclusion. This makes your main line of argument understandable. Some connections, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Considering the fact” and “Talking about its career aspect” announce ideas rather than showing how they relate, while “with its one language” and “the thise than are not” make the job example difficult to follow. The final paragraph also introduces a point that could be integrated with the travel discussion. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and check pronoun references so readers can follow who is being compared.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communication,” “career opportunity,” “language barrier,” and “sense of belonging.” These choices help convey the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision. For instance, “cutting short the language barrier issue” is not a natural expression, and “familiality with their language” obscures the intended meaning. There are also misspellings such as “necassary,” “Progresively,” and “foreing.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate phrasing: for example, say that language skills “reduce communication barriers” or “improve employment prospects.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “in a situation where” and a reason clause with “because.” The main position is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “more than one languages,” “the basic part in communication,” and “the one that has … stands a better chance … than the thise than are not.” The opening sentence is also long and awkwardly structured, making its relationship between the two education systems unclear. Practise building shorter, controlled sentences first, then combine ideas with accurate clauses. Check singular and plural forms, article use, and subject–verb agreement during revision.
