Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education is a third eye of human being. It is highly debatable issue among some educatiobal systems whether children should learn foreign language or not. According to my point of view, studing foreign language should be option for the children not a necessary thing.
To begin with, only if people knows other language, then it would be benifical for them to communicate with other country's people where they want to go for vecations. Moreover, Not only learning foreign language make people to understand others culture, but also canopen new gate of opportunity to make a career in the other nation. In addition, people can visit international countries for higher study due to having a ability to understand, read, write and speak their language. For example, in india schools started teaching english language from their beginning and this think enable them to pursuade their higher education in the foreign country such as America, Canada, Australia, London and waht not.
On the other hand, school should focus on necessary subjects such as science, history and physical activites instead of teaching other languages because knowledge of these subjects, is useful for the children on their daily bases and apart from that, Children can make career in their own nation and they do not need to leave their parents and freinds for making career in different country, as well as it is benefical for their own nation because if people stay and work in their own nation, it will help to boost the economy of their own country.
In conclusion, based on the aforementioned reasons, i still afform that every school must have a option to teach foreign language and encourage children to study and take it as a additional subject, but do not need to force them to learn without their own will.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you identify benefits such as communicating abroad, understanding other cultures, and accessing education or careers overseas, then state that language study should be optional rather than compulsory. The examples about English in Indian schools and studying abroad help make the benefits relevant. This meets the task well, and your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion. However, the case for making study optional is less fully developed than the benefits: the points about prioritising other subjects and supporting the national economy would benefit from clearer explanation and a specific example. To strengthen the response further, develop each main reason with a more explicit link to children’s education and acknowledge why language learning may still be valuable even when optional.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining benefits, a contrasting paragraph supporting optional study, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the argument. Some cohesion is mechanical, however, and several sentences carry too many ideas at once. For example, the sentence beginning “On the other hand” combines subject priorities, staying near parents, and national economic benefits, making the relationships between these points less clear. The example about English also lists several countries without clearly connecting each to the claim. Use shorter units to separate reasons and examples, and make references such as “this” or “these subjects” precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communicate,” “higher study,” “career,” and “economy,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “boost the economy.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise phrasing, including “other language,” “other nation,” and “make a career.” Several spelling errors—such as “benifical,” “vecations,” “activites,” and “freinds”—are noticeable, while expressions like “third eye of human being” and “new gate of opportunity” sound unnatural in this context. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they reduce precision and sometimes make the argument harder to follow. Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex structures, including the “Not only … but also” construction and clauses introduced by “because” and “if.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is uneven, particularly in longer sentences. For example, “only if people knows” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “learning foreign language make people” also needs agreement and an article. Other examples include “a ability” and “school should focus,” where article or number choices are inaccurate. The sentence beginning “On the other hand” is difficult to manage because several clauses are joined together. Practise building accurate sentences with one main point at a time, then check agreement, articles, and punctuation when adding subordinate clauses.
