Student answer (Band 6.0)
In some educational institutions, it is important for students to learn more than one foreign languages. However, in others, any foreign language is not considered as a necessary part of the curriculum. I believe learning a foreign language is an important part of education as it can offer better international career opportunities and can create employment in the local economy.
One of the significant advantages of foreign language study is that it can help individuals to get better international career opportunities. This is mainly because international organisations such as universities and MNCs demand proficiency in foreign languages. It enables learners to communicate effectively with the native speakers. For example, various countries require applicants to take English language proficiency tests namely IELTS, PTE and TOEFL. Furthermore, studying foreign languages as a necessary part of the curriculum may provide students with a backup career plan. Since most students do not get required career guidance in the early years of their schooling, they may choose another career option where communicating in a foreign language is an advantage. They can open their own foreign language coaching institute and create employment such as language trainers and administrative staff. As a result, it can help them to grow financially and teach others.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that foreign language language study is an important part of education because it may offer several career opportunities nationally as well as internationally. Moreover, if children study foreign languages in the early age, the retention chances increases significantly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear position that language study is important and identify two relevant benefits: international career opportunities and possible local employment through language schools. The examples of IELTS, PTE and TOEFL support the international point, but the discussion of opening a coaching institute is less fully explained and does not show how likely or broadly beneficial this outcome is. The prompt also asks about potential benefits generally, so developing another benefit, such as cultural understanding or communication while travelling, would make the response more complete. The response is 241 words, nine words below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Add relevant explanation and examples rather than padding the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, the body develops career-related benefits, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “For example,” and “As a result” help show relationships between points. However, the body paragraph contains several distinct steps—from international organisations to language tests, career guidance, and setting up a coaching institute—without enough separation or explanation, so the progression can feel mechanical. The conclusion repeats the career-opportunity point rather than drawing together the two benefits. Organise the main benefits into clearer stages or separate paragraphs, and use referencing that makes each link explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “proficiency,” “international organisations,” “career guidance,” and “curriculum,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, although some combinations are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “better international career opportunities” is understandable but could be more precise, while “create employment such as language trainers” does not express the relationship naturally. “Foreign language language study” repeats a word, and “retention chances” is an awkward phrase. Aim for accurate collocations and vary repeated terms such as “career opportunities” and “foreign languages.” These refinements would make your vocabulary more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning “Since” and “because,” and most sentences communicate their meaning clearly. Some grammatical errors remain. In the opening, “more than one foreign languages” should use a singular noun after “one”; “is not considered as a necessary part” has an unnecessary “as”; and “in the early age” needs a different article and preposition pattern. In the final sentence, “the retention chances increases” has a subject–verb agreement error. There is also a repeated word in “foreign language language study.” Check agreement, articles, and sentence-level editing carefully, while continuing to use subordinate clauses to show relationships between ideas.
