Student answer (Band 5.5)

studying different languages other than own languages is a time demanding approaches for the children in a recent years. Now a days in this modern growing world to compete with others it is essential to learn different languages while sometimes childrens faced trouble to use their native language properly due to learn various languages at the same time.In my opinion learning more languages is much beneficial.

World is now become very fast and competition is now at its peak in every sector. So parents usually encourage their children to learn different languages to step up from others in job market or studying abroad. Some countries search language proficiencies to hire people for work or higher studies. From my own experience i was learn english in childhood which keep me ahead from many of us while i try to get PR in Canada.

It is sometimes challenging for someone to learn more languages same time. However sometimes parents are giving immense pressure to their children which will make their children frustration to learn their own language.sometimes they experienced more difficulties to spelling their own and sometimes fail to communicate with own people. For an example students who has been studying in english medium school were failed to communicate with native people and become introvert.

At last it is commonly seen that more people want to make their children more efficient by learning differ languages. It is proven that those who know more language are ahead from others in future workplace. But it also alarming that some children are more isolated from their family due to learn foreign language.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the prompt: you describe benefits such as improved job prospects and opportunities to study or live abroad, and you give a clear opinion that learning languages is beneficial. The personal example about learning English and seeking permanent residence in Canada helps make the argument relevant. You also acknowledge a possible drawback, namely pressure on children and difficulty communicating with family or native speakers. However, the benefits are more clearly stated than explained, and the claim that language learners are “ahead from others” is broad rather than supported with a specific explanation. Develop each main point further—for example, explain how language skills improve communication or access to particular careers—and clarify how the drawbacks relate to your overall view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, one on challenges, and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader follow the main direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several linking expressions feel mechanical or do not show the relationship between ideas precisely. For instance, “However sometimes” introduces a challenge, but the following sentences move between parental pressure, spelling, and communication without clearly connecting them. The conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than bringing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main point, and make references such as “those” or “their own” more explicit so readers can easily identify who or what you mean.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language proficiencies,” “job market,” “native language,” and “communicate,” and your meaning is generally understandable. There is some attempt to express less familiar ideas, such as children becoming “introvert” or feeling pressure, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural. Examples include “time demanding approaches,” “step up from others,” and “make their children frustration.” Spelling and word forms also need attention, as in “differ languages” and “childrens.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a more reliable range of topic vocabulary and check that words fit their grammatical form and combine naturally with nearby words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “while,” “which,” and “who,” and the overall message can usually be understood. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “World is now become very fast” has an incorrect verb construction, while “students who has been studying” does not maintain subject–verb agreement. Some sentences also run together, as in the opening, where a full stop or clearer clause structure would improve readability. Practise forming accurate past and present tenses, checking singular and plural subjects, and punctuating longer sentences. More reliable control of these patterns would make your complex ideas easier to follow.
