Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays learning a foreign language is an important topic in education. Whilw some educational system make it compulsary for children to study foreign language and others do not. I believe that learning a foreign language should be an essential part of education because it offers several benefits to the children in their future.
First of all, learning a foreign language helps children to communicate with others easily like when they traval to the new country they can communicate easily with others and they can learn about the culture, traditions and so on. and with this they can become more confident in their life which is a one of the considerable benefit of learning foreign language.
Moreover, learning a new language offer more job oppertunities to the children also as nowadays the big companies hire more employes who can speak several languages. So,learning a new language opens a door to more job oppertunties with high wage salries. For example, when i moved to canada specially in montreal , i already knew french as i took some classes from india that helps me a lot for finding a job in montreal because most of the companies in montreal prefer the bilingual employes. So, we can say that learning a foreign language bring many benfits to the children.
In conclusion, i would say that learning a new language takes some efforts and money as well, but along with that there are so many advantages of learning a new langueage so that's why i would like to say that learning a foreign language should be a an important part of education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain benefits, including communication, cultural learning, confidence and employment, and clearly state that language study should be an essential part of education. The Montreal example about knowing French gives relevant personal support for the employment point. However, the benefits are not developed equally: communication and cultural understanding are mentioned briefly, while the job example receives more explanation. To strengthen the response, explain more specifically how language learning builds confidence or cultural understanding, and connect these benefits directly to children’s education. Your position is clear, and the relevant ideas are supported, but some points remain general or less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main progression. The personal example also fits naturally with the employment paragraph. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, the first body paragraph joins several ideas with “and,” and the sentence beginning “and with this” does not clearly identify what “this” refers to. The conclusion repeats the position without drawing the benefits together. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing, and make each paragraph develop one main idea in a more deliberate sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “communicate,” “culture,” “traditions,” “confident,” “bilingual,” and “job opportunities.” These choices allow you to express the main benefits and make the Montreal example understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “compulsary,” “traval,” “oppertunities,” and “salries.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “opens a door to more job opportunities” and “high wage salaries.” Aim to use accurate topic-specific collocations, such as “improve employment prospects” or “access higher-paying jobs,” and check spelling carefully. Greater precision and variety would make the argument more fluent and convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because it offers several benefits” and a time clause in “when I moved to Canada.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors occur often enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “some educational system make it compulsory” has problems with number and verb agreement, while “learning a new language offer” and “learning a foreign language bring” also need subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “a one of the considerable benefit” and the run-on sequence beginning “First of all.” Practise agreement, articles, and punctuation, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete.
