Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many schools and colleges, students are required to learn one or more than non-native languages. However, learning a second language is not compulsory in many countries. In my perspective, learning a foreign languages is an important part of education because students can learn about different culture and tradition.
In this paragraph, I will highlights the benefits of studying second language in schools and colleges. If children study an additional language as part of their education, they can easily communicate with international tourists and people from different backgrounds. Another reason of studying second language is that students can improve their confidence, discipline and problem-solving skills. As a result, they become more independent. Furthermore, learning foreign language can create more employment opportunities for students. As a result, they can find jobs in intenational comapnies.
On the other hand, foreign language study is an essential part of a contemporary education because it broaden student's knowledge about different country's people's lifestyle and preapre them for global partnerships. In addition, learning non-native languages can enhance children's vocabulary and grammar. when students learn a new language, they gain a new persepective and way of thinking about the world. For instance, students who learn spanish allows students to enhance their vocabulary and grammer while developing a fresh perspective on the world.
To sum up, foreign language study offers enormous benefits to students, such as learning about different culture, tradition and improve their communication skills. Non-native lanaguage is an essential part of education which offers many benefitd to students.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you describe benefits, including communication with people from different backgrounds, stronger confidence and problem-solving skills, and improved employment prospects, and you clearly state that language study is important. These relevant points meet the task well. The response also begins to explain cultural and intellectual benefits, such as learning about other lifestyles and gaining a different perspective. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully developed. For example, the employment point would be stronger with an explanation of how language ability helps in international work, and the Spanish example repeats the vocabulary-and-perspective point without showing it concretely. Developing a few examples and explaining their effects more fully would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped by topic, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help signal movement between points. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, but the paragraph continues to support language study rather than presenting an opposing view. The repeated “As a result” also makes the links feel formulaic, while the Spanish example repeats an earlier idea. Improve progression by using transitions that reflect the actual relationship between ideas, and make each paragraph develop a distinct point with clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “international tourists,” “problem-solving skills,” “employment opportunities,” and “global partnerships.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and you attempt some less common expressions such as “fresh perspective.” However, word choice, collocation, word forms and spelling are not consistently controlled. Examples include “one or more than non-native languages,” “different culture and tradition,” and the misspellings “intenational,” “comapnies,” and “preapre.” “Non-native language” is also repeated where “foreign language” or “additional language” would sound more natural. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships and plural forms; this will make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional and subordinate clauses: “If children study an additional language…” and “when students learn a new language…”. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “learning a foreign languages” has a number-agreement problem, “I will highlights” uses the wrong verb form, and “it broaden student's knowledge” has subject–verb and possessive errors. In “students who learn Spanish allows students,” the relative clause creates an unclear subject and verb agreement. Capitalisation after a full stop is also inconsistent, as in “when students learn…”. Practise agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
