Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic by describing practical benefits, especially communicating and adapting to life abroad, and you give a clear view that language learning is useful for people who hope to work overseas. However, the response only partly answers the full task: the benefits are mostly tied to employment and daily life abroad, while broader educational benefits are not explored. The second paragraph discusses why some people do not study a language, but this is not directly requested and takes space away from explaining why language study matters in education. Several points, such as learning about another culture and gaining work opportunities, are repeated rather than developed with a specific example or explanation. To strengthen the response, address both questions directly and support each main benefit with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation: the response moves from benefits, to reasons some people do not study languages, and then to a conclusion. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these sections. However, progression within paragraphs is difficult to follow because many ideas are joined into long strings, often with repeated “and also” or “because.” The second paragraph’s focus on financial barriers and personal preference also interrupts the answer’s main line of argument. References such as “they” and “it” are sometimes unclear, so readers must infer what they refer to. Use shorter sentences, give each paragraph one clear purpose, and connect ideas with precise transitions. A conclusion should briefly restate your position rather than repeat several earlier points.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “communicate,” “culture,” “opportunity,” “financial problem,” and “community.” These words help convey your main ideas, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly references to working abroad and learning another language. Frequent spelling errors, including “foriegn,” “benifits,” and “oppurtunity,” make the writing less clear and reduce the accuracy of your vocabulary. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “have dream to working in abroad” and “buy to sm mall.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural collocations such as “work overseas,” “adapt to a new culture,” and “shop independently.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to express connected ideas and gives reasons using forms such as “because” and “if,” but sentence structures are mostly long, loosely joined clauses. Frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries make some meanings difficult to follow. For example, “it also give you knowledge” needs subject–verb agreement, while “people to have opportunity to work to other country” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation is also limited, so several separate ideas run together. Practise writing one complete idea per sentence, checking that each sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb. Then add a few controlled complex sentences, such as a clear “because” clause, rather than joining many clauses together.
