Student answer (Band 4.5)
It is true very counrty has its own eduction system, which decides wheather learning international language is compulsary or not. While in some school curriculum learning one or more non- native language is not a condition, I firmly believe that learning a different language at school not only provides career opportunities but also helps in learner's pesonal growth.
The clear advantanges of learning a new language apart from mother tongue at school level are personal growth and better career opportunities in future. If pupils learn these subjects at foundation stage they can enhance their cognitive abilities such as; problem solving and multitasking.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a relevant position: you believe language learning is important because it can provide career opportunities and support personal growth. You also begin to explain a benefit by mentioning cognitive abilities such as problem-solving and multitasking. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the career benefit, give a relevant example, or develop why language study should be part of education. The conclusion is cut off, so your final view is not fully restated. The response is also 140 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to address both questions with developed reasons. To improve, explain each benefit with a cause-and-effect link and a specific example, then clearly answer whether language study should be required.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, a body paragraph and a conclusion, and the opening establishes your position before the body introduces benefits. The linking phrase “While” also signals a contrast. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the body contains only a brief claim and one supporting sentence, with no explanation or example to connect the ideas. The conclusion begins with “In conclusion” but stops mid-sentence, so it cannot summarise the argument. The relationship between career opportunities and personal growth is not developed across the paragraphs. Build a clear sequence: state one benefit, explain how it works, and illustrate it; then do the same for another benefit before completing the conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “foreign language,” “career opportunities,” “cognitive abilities,” “problem solving” and “multitasking.” These choices show an attempt to discuss education and its possible benefits rather than relying only on very basic words. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “counrty,” “eduction,” “compulsary,” “advantanges” and “pesonal.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “international language” and “at foundation stage.” Because the response is brief, there is little evidence of a wider range of vocabulary or flexible use. Check spelling carefully and use more precise phrases, for example “foreign language” and “at an early stage of education.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both a complex opening sentence and a contrast structure, as in “While …, I firmly believe …,” and the main point is generally understandable. The sentence about pupils developing cognitive abilities also shows an attempt to explain an effect. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “It is true very counrty has…” is missing a grammatical link after “true,” and the semicolon in “such as; problem solving” is not appropriate. The final sentence is incomplete, which prevents the conclusion from being grammatically complete. Practise forming complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use punctuation to separate clauses accurately.
