Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a clear overall view that foreign-language study is beneficial, and you identify two relevant advantages: improved job prospects and communication across cultures. However, the task is only partly developed. The paragraph about disadvantages is not required by the question and takes space away from explaining the benefits and why language study is important in education. The job example is difficult to follow, and the communication point is asserted rather than supported with a specific example. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed reason. The response is also two words below the required minimum. To strengthen the response, explain each benefit more fully and give a clear, relevant example for each.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph focuses on disadvantages, while the task asks you to discuss benefits and their importance. Some links are mechanical or confusing, especially “To elaborate” followed by the unclear job example, and the communication paragraph begins with a misspelled transition. Ideas within paragraphs also run together, with limited punctuation and unclear references such as “then if have yo work.” Organise the response around two benefits, connect each explanation directly to its main point, and use shorter, clearly punctuated sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “job opportunities,” “communication skills,” “different cultures,” and “future career.” These phrases make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “international language,” “detrimental impact” in this context, and “widden their horizon.” There are also repeated misspellings, including “thier,” “commucation,” and “advengeous.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “foreign-language skills,” “broaden their horizons,” and “communicate confidently with people from other countries.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “I largely believe that students…” and “when pupils learn foreign language at their young age then…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “students much learn,” “when the learn foreign language pupil cannot focus,” and “it put negative impact.” Articles and agreement are also inconsistent, as in “learning foreign language” and “it enhances their communication skills.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are often missing, particularly where one idea runs into the next. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check articles, verb forms, agreement and punctuation before submitting.
