Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some institutes are mandating the second language while others are keeping it an optional subject. Foreign language plays a vital role in an individual's life as it brings numerous benefits. I believe that it is an important part of the education system.
There are several positives of learning a second language. The most prominent one is the confidence it fosters. Most of the students choose the foreign universities to persue their higher education. Those who carries a basic knowledge of the foreign language they can confidentely have a communication with a native speaker. Moreover, they can take in the presentations without a hesitation.
Secondly, it increases the career opportunities as most of the multinational companies give priority to a bilingual candidates. Also, even if an individual tries to open a business, can target a mass number of audience. Also, in a few companies, it is mandatory to be bilingual to get higher positions such as chief executives and human resources.
In my opinion, studying foreign language is an important part. It helps people to be independent. Although, there are such technologies where one can communicate with the different region person with the help of google voice generator but not everyone carries a device with the internet. Hence, by learning a foreign language they do not have to be dependent on the technology.
To conclude, there are several beenfits of this which are enhancement in confidence and helps in career opportunities. Also, it is important to study a foreign language as it helps people not to be dependent on technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you identify benefits, including confidence and career opportunities, and clearly state that language study is important. The examples about communicating at foreign universities and reaching a wider customer base are relevant. Your explanation of independence from technology also supports your position. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between bilingualism and promotion to senior roles would be stronger with a specific illustration or clearer reasoning. The discussion focuses mainly on education and employment, so other potential benefits, such as cultural understanding, could broaden the response. Your position is clear, but fuller development and support across the main ideas would make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs on benefits, a paragraph explaining your view, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Secondly,” “Moreover,” and “To conclude” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. At times, however, linking is mechanical or repetitive: “Also” appears several times in close succession, and the conclusion repeats the same benefits without adding a final synthesis. Some connections within sentences are unclear, particularly “Those who carries a basic knowledge … they can,” where the relationship between the subject and the following clause is difficult to track. Use a wider range of linking methods and make references between ideas more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “foreign universities,” “multinational companies,” “bilingual,” and “career opportunities,” which allows you to discuss education and work. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “native speaker” and “higher positions.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “persue,” “confidentely,” “beenfits,” and “google voice generator.” Some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, such as “a mass number of audience” and “take in the presentations.” These do not prevent the main message from being understood, but they make parts less fluent. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases, rather than translating expressions word by word.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “Although” and a reason introduced by “as.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, sentence construction, and articles occur in several places. For example, “Those who carries … they can” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and an awkward repeated subject; “a bilingual candidates” mismatches the article and plural noun; and “Although, there are such technologies…” is not correctly connected to a main clause. There are also missing or misplaced articles in phrases such as “with a hesitation.” Aim to build accurate sentence patterns first, especially with relative clauses and although/while structures, then proofread agreement, articles, and punctuation.
