Student answer (Band 5.5)

Lanugaes are the basic tools of communication between different communities and nations, to learn a foreign langiage has great importance and impact for any individual.

There are several benefits of learning foreign language. Many schools allover the world provide different foreign languages as mandadtory subject for the childeren in their early education, young age groupe can learn any language quickly as they are in their early learning phase, these langauges play an important role in their personal and professional developmen in their career at later stage. Several countries are providing education in their own langaues while students from other nationals and communities are willing to get eduction from thoeir high standard institution. Lets take an example of Germany, medium of communication for education and business is German language, people who learn this language, easily enrolle in diffeerent institutues of Germany, as it is one of the primary requirement to get admission. After the enrollement, students always look for part time jobs to geenrate income and bear the living expenses, somoone with good fluency in german langage, can get job easily in the market, because communication is the basic requirement. So foreign language is important for education, jobs and business as well to work woth other community.

From my own experience, yes foreign language is important, when i moved from Pakistan to United Arab Emirates, I realized that people with Arabic language competency are guving priority in the job market compared to those who can not communicate in Arabic. So in my opinion learning a foreign language is always important and play crucial role in the development of individuals and communities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the prompt: you explain benefits, especially access to education and employment, and clearly state that foreign-language learning is important. The Germany example and your experience moving from Pakistan to the UAE make the response relevant and give it a personal basis. However, the benefits are developed unevenly. The discussion of German-language requirements is detailed, while broader benefits such as cultural understanding or communication between communities are only briefly mentioned. Some claims, such as language ability making it easy to find work, would be stronger with qualification or a more specific explanation. Develop each main benefit with a clear reason and example to make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining benefits, and a concluding paragraph that gives your personal view. The examples generally follow the points they are intended to support. However, the main body contains several ideas in one long sequence, so the progression from early learning to university admission and then employment is not always easy to follow. Linking phrases such as “So” and “From my own experience” help, but connections between points can feel abrupt, and “these languages” has an unclear reference after the sentence about young learners. Separate the benefits into clearer stages or paragraphs, and use precise referencing and transitions to show how each example supports your argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “communication,” “competency,” “job market,” and “admission,” which allows you to discuss education and employment. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “personal and professional development.” However, spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make reading difficult, for example “langiage,” “mandadtory,” and “enrolle.” Some word choices and collocations are also inaccurate or awkward, including “young age groupe,” “generate income” misspelled as “geenrate income,” and “get education from” where “receive an education at” would be more natural. Proofread carefully and build a bank of accurate collocations for education, work, and language learning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style explanation of how language ability can help students and workers. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but many sentences contain grammatical problems that make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “to learn a foreign language has great importance” uses an awkward infinitive construction, while “people with Arabic language competency are giving priority” has an incorrect passive form; “are given priority” is needed. There are also run-on sentences, such as the long sentence beginning “Many schools allover the world,” and inconsistent capitalization of “I” and “German.” Aim for shorter, controlled sentences first, then check verb forms, articles, agreement, and punctuation when combining ideas.
