Student answer (Band 6.0)
Recently in many learning institutions, it is mandatory for students to learn more foreign languages. Whereas, some people believe that it is not a requirement to learn more than one langauage. So, in this part of writing, I will discuss some prominent advantages of learning different languages and discuss reasons behind its importance.
To begin with, the primary advantage of learning different langauges make students more confident. It becomes easy for them to commnicate with citizens of across the world. As, there is no language barrier. Apart from this, learning multi- languages help kids when they go overseas for studies. They do not need to worried about their communication skills. Nowadays, in indian schools learners are basically learning more than three languages such as english, hindi and their native language so that they do not face any difficulty in communication.
Moving towads its importance, as per my point of view, it plays a unique role in students life. They can watch different shows and podcast if they are multilingual which boost their knowledge. Also, it supports in their career. For instance, in Canada most of banks and other institutions hire people based of their language abilities because they have citizens from several parts of world. So, if two persons are applying for same job with same qualifications, the one who know multi- languages have more chances of getting recruited.
To summarize this, they are many pros of learning various languages from schools which helps individuals in their basic life. Apart from this, it plays a important role in their career and helps them to more confident while delivering their message to foreign people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you identify benefits such as easier communication, support for overseas study, access to media, and improved employment prospects, and you clearly state that language learning is important. The examples about Indian schools and Canadian employers make the discussion relevant. This meets the task well, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that multilingual students become “more confident” would be stronger if you explained how language ability builds confidence or gave a specific situation. The career example is more developed, though it could be linked more explicitly to the wider value of language education. Extending the reasoning behind each benefit would make the response more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph explaining importance, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress logically, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moving towards its importance,” and “To summarize” help readers follow the discussion. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For instance, “Apart from this” introduces overseas study after confidence and communication without showing precisely how the points connect. The conclusion also repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use a wider range of natural transitions and clearer referencing, and make each paragraph develop one central point in a more connected sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “language barrier,” “multilingual,” “communication skills,” and “language abilities.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “prominent advantages” and “plays a unique role.” However, spelling errors and awkward word combinations are noticeable, including “langauges,” “commnicate,” “multi- languages,” and “based of their language abilities.” Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “citizens of across the world” and “delivering their message to foreign people.” These choices do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision and fluency. Focus on accurate spelling and natural collocations, and prefer clear, direct wording over formal-sounding phrases that do not fit the context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the opening and conditional reasoning in the employment example. The overall meaning is usually clear, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. Examples include “the primary advantage … make students,” where the subject and verb do not agree, “They do not need to worried,” which has an incorrect verb form, and “the one who know,” which needs agreement. Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “it plays a important role” and “As, there is no language barrier.” These errors are generally understandable, but they limit accuracy. Practise subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after “need,” and article use, while checking punctuation around introductory clauses.
