Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food, though the development is quite limited. You identify health issues and family dynamics as disadvantages, and the necessity of convenience for those living abroad as an advantage. However, the ideas are presented in a very brief manner and lack depth or specific examples. The position is clear, but the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack the necessary elaboration to reach a higher band. To improve, you should aim to expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples to fully develop your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Thirdly'. The progression of ideas is sometimes difficult to follow due to the lack of logical transitions between sentences. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, making the flow of the argument feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'restourant', 'peaple', 'noaduth', and 'becouse', which can distract the reader. You rely on simple, everyday language rather than attempting to use more precise or academic vocabulary related to the topic of nutrition or lifestyle. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and ensure you proofread your work to correct common spelling mistakes. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help you avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammatical range is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There are frequent errors in sentence structure, punctuation, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'their are so many advantages and disadvantage' and 'most of people are live in foreign countries'. These errors are persistent and occasionally make it difficult for the reader to follow your intended meaning. While you attempt to use some complex structures, they are often faulty. Focusing on basic sentence construction and ensuring correct verb forms and punctuation will help you achieve greater accuracy and clarity in your writing.
