Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, we have seen people generally rely on restaurants and pre-mixed or frozen foods rather than cooking at home for their daily meals. You will find advantages and disadvantages discussed in the coming paragraphs.
To begin with, these days we have often seen people generally prefer to purchase frozen food or pre-mixed food to have their daily meals or they can order food from restaurants. We have also seen that multiple companies in the market are doing mass production of frozen foods, which include many preservatives and fats, which means this is completely unhealthy and causes a lot of problems for our human body. People often face body problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, and various stomach issues. For example, I have seen one of my friends who is living in a hostel, and he completely depends on frozen foods and restaurants. In a few months, he noticed some health issues, and they kept getting worse. His health started deteriorating completely, and later, after fighting with the illness, he unfortunately died. That teaches the lesson not to eat so much from restaurants and frozen food.
Secondly, it is not completely wrong to eat from restaurants or frozen foods, but you have to keep some limitations on your food intake. Sometimes we notice we come home after work being tired, and we do not have energy to cook meals at that time; we can cook frozen foods or eat out at restaurants. It is completely good if you do anything in moderation rather than just rely completely on it. This will help people keep their bodies healthy.
To sum up, Frozen food and eating out at restaurants are completely good, but make sure you intake rather than completely depend on this. People must look after their body than comfort.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The disadvantage section is quite detailed, though the inclusion of a personal anecdote about a friend's death is extreme and somewhat distracting from the academic tone required. The advantages are touched upon briefly in the second paragraph, focusing on convenience for tired workers. While the position is clear, the argument could be more balanced and better supported with broader societal or economic points rather than relying on a single, highly specific personal narrative. Overall, the response covers the requirements but lacks depth in the analysis of advantages.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'To sum up', although some of these transitions feel a bit mechanical. There is a logical progression from the negative health impacts to the moderate view of convenience. However, the referencing within sentences is sometimes repetitive, and the flow between ideas could be smoother. The concluding paragraph is a bit abrupt and lacks a strong summary statement that synthesizes the main points effectively.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express basic ideas clearly. There is some repetition of phrases like 'frozen food' and 'restaurants'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary such as 'preservatives', 'deteriorating', and 'moderation', the range is somewhat limited. There are no major errors that impede communication, but the lexical choices lack the sophistication and variety required for a higher band score. Expanding the vocabulary to include more precise synonyms and collocations would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'we have often seen people generally prefer' (redundant adverbs), 'after fighting with the illness' (unnatural collocation), and 'make sure you intake' (missing object). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect the flow. While the meaning is always clear, the frequency of minor errors and the lack of more varied, error-free complex structures keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on sentence variety and subject-verb agreement would be beneficial.
