In contemporary society, we see the dependency on frozen food is ubiquitous. And the amount of stress and pressure on one individual worked as a catalyst in this scenario. Today we will be discussing the benefits and the repercussion of this generational change.
On one hand some proponents believe packed food is an excellent way to get the food fast and cheaper in this era. Not only the food is freshly made but also saves a lot of time which can be utilize in other activities. For instance, in current generation significant number of people are bachelor and live in a private accommodation, because of their busy schedule and lifestyle it is very time consuming to buy groceries and cook they find this process very seamless. As a result, almost most people order takeouts.
On the other hand, some individuals believe this might bring some repercussion. The food might be fresh and cheap, but it does not match the quality we might receive from the home cooked meals. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. The position is clear, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding the 'freshness' of convenience food is contradictory and lacks logical depth. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting examples, such as the reference to Health Canada, are a bit generic and could be better integrated to strengthen the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more nuanced reasoning rather than relying on brief assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On one hand,' 'On the other hand,' and 'Consequently,' which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the abrupt shift in the introduction. The use of referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression could be smoother to ensure a more natural flow of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'ubiquitous,' 'catalyst,' and 'repercussion.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'sky rocked' (should be 'skyrocketed') and 'almost most people.' Additionally, the phrase 'the food might be fresh' in the second body paragraph contradicts the premise of convenience food, suggesting a lack of precision in vocabulary usage. Expanding the range of topic-specific collocations would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Junk and fast food have its own pros') and incorrect verb forms ('which can be utilize'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining complex sentence construction will be beneficial.
