Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention time-saving as an advantage and health risks as a disadvantage, the explanations are brief and lack depth. For instance, the point about saving money is mentioned but not fully explored in relation to the prompt. Your position is clear in the conclusion, but the overall argument could be strengthened by providing more nuanced examples beyond the brief mention of international students in Canada. To improve, ensure each main idea is supported by a clear, logical explanation and a more detailed example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'On the one hand', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'After analysis both the aspect'. Additionally, some sentences lack smooth flow due to punctuation errors and repetitive phrasing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the transition between sentences is more fluid and natural.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'drametic', 'resturants', 'prevservative', 'funcations', 'vegtables') and some awkward collocations (e.g., 'hard impact on the health', 'make food at the home'). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited and the inaccuracies occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and pay closer attention to how words are paired together in English collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'majority individuals started', 'majority people feels'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'disadvantages are outweight'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
