Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of the topic. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding health is mentioned in both body paragraphs without significant extension. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the 'survey in our university,' lack sufficient detail to be fully convincing. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced explanations, such as discussing the economic impact or the social aspects of dining out versus home cooking, rather than focusing solely on health.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and the progression of ideas is generally clear. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'On the other hand,' and 'To conclude,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly misused, such as 'Whereas' at the start of a sentence. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, 'it' is used repeatedly without a clear antecedent, which makes the flow feel slightly disjointed. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including some ambitious attempts like 'aforementioned,' 'myriad,' and 'multifarious.' However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'having health life,' 'made from many days,' and 'get food posining.' These errors occasionally hinder the precision of your argument. While you are attempting to use less common vocabulary, the lack of accuracy in these instances suggests a need for more focus on how these words are used in natural English contexts.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'this aforementioned notion have,' 'it increase,' 'it have') and article usage errors (e.g., 'having health life'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces placed before commas and periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for punctuation would significantly improve your writing.
