Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. The position is clear, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited; for instance, the explanation of why convenience food is a 'life saviour' for students is brief, and the conclusion is incomplete, cutting off mid-sentence. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that each point is fully extended with more detailed reasoning and that the essay is brought to a complete, coherent conclusion. The structure is logical, but the lack of a finished final paragraph impacts the overall task completion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. Furthermore, the abrupt ending of the essay significantly disrupts the flow and coherence of the final section. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that every paragraph has a strong, complete concluding sentence would help improve the logical flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'nurture', 'contamination', and 'nutritional values'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'huge number of people are depending', 'demolishing their interest', and 'not enrich in values'. These errors occasionally make the text sound unnatural, though they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on direct translations or slightly informal phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'In the recent years', 'meals which prepared at home', 'generation today are much keen into their career', and 'cooking from raw groceries are more beneficial from human body'. These errors in subject-verb agreement, preposition use, and article usage are noticeable. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb forms and prepositions.
