Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 95 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. The essay introduces the topic and begins to list advantages, but it fails to provide a balanced discussion of both advantages and disadvantages as requested by the prompt. The ideas are severely underdeveloped, and the response ends abruptly before reaching a conclusion or providing any depth. To improve, you must ensure you address all parts of the prompt (advantages and disadvantages) and provide sufficient supporting details and examples to meet the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is a basic attempt at paragraphing, the text is too short to demonstrate effective logical progression or a clear overall arrangement. Cohesive devices are minimal and repetitive (e.g., 'first of all'). The lack of a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion makes the text feel like a fragmented draft rather than a cohesive essay. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'hectic lifestyle' and 'time saving'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'kichten' (kitchen) and 'packing food' (packaged food). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To achieve a higher band score, you should work on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations related to the topic of food and lifestyle, while also ensuring accurate spelling throughout your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('there are several reason to people depends') and punctuation. The sentence structures are predominantly simple, with little evidence of complex sentence forms. The lack of proper capitalization and run-on sentences further hinders clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb forms and punctuation, before attempting more complex grammatical structures. Consistent practice with proofreading will help you identify and correct these recurring errors.
