Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of convenience food. The ideas are relevant, such as time-saving benefits and health risks like obesity and heart disease. However, the development is somewhat limited. The arguments are presented in a repetitive manner, and the examples provided, such as 'people who worked early in the morning', are quite general. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more specific, detailed explanations or nuanced examples. The position is clear throughout, but the overall depth of analysis is consistent with a Band 6 level.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To begins' instead of 'To begin with'. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs needs more variety to achieve a higher score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'time-consuming', 'hypertension', and 'obesity'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'restaurants food', 'easy to be made frozen food', and 'over fats food'. These errors do not impede communication, but they demonstrate a limited range and a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring you use the correct word forms (e.g., 'restaurant food' instead of 'restaurants food').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'people dependent on' (missing verb 'are'), 'which can leads to' (incorrect verb form), and 'easy get to' (incorrect structure). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of relative clauses to improve your accuracy.
