Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. The position is clear throughout, and the main ideas—time-saving versus health risks—are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the claim that 'eighty percentage of people has heart problems' is an unsupported generalisation that lacks nuance. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, logical explanations for your points rather than relying on sweeping statements. The conclusion is also slightly abrupt and incomplete, which affects the overall task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Additionally', 'On contrary', and 'In conclusion', to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'On contrary' (should be 'On the contrary') and 'As a result' being used twice in the same paragraph. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is more precise.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'fast-paced life', 'nutritional', and 'convenience food'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'effortless cooking' instead of 'convenience', 'cop-up' instead of 'cope', and 'conveniency' (which is not standard English). To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding the repetition of basic words. Some spelling errors, such as 'occu' at the end, also detract from the overall quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'dependency of the restaurant' (should be 'on'), 'no one is spared with enough time' (incorrect phrasing), and 'every households contain' (subject-verb agreement error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To achieve a higher score, you need to increase the frequency of error-free sentences and pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like subject-verb agreement and preposition usage.
