Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention time-saving and convenience as advantages, and health issues and cost as disadvantages, the arguments lack depth and specific supporting evidence beyond personal anecdotes. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of these points, such as the long-term societal impact of sedentary lifestyles or the economic consequences of frequent dining out. The position is clear, but the overall development is basic and relies on generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by mechanical errors and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'Its like two sides of coin' and 'strikingly' are used in a way that feels forced or unnatural. The use of cohesive devices is often inaccurate, such as the misuse of punctuation between sentences, which makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the paragraphing, while present, does not effectively group related ideas to create a smooth, coherent argument throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite repetitive and basic. You rely on simple terms like 'fast', 'busy', and 'easy' throughout the essay. There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'seating jobs' (instead of 'sedentary jobs') and 'make burden on them' (instead of 'place a financial burden on them'). While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the limited range of vocabulary prevent the essay from demonstrating the flexibility required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('restaurants and processed food is'), incorrect article usage, and frequent punctuation errors (e.g., unnecessary periods in the middle of sentences). Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. For instance, 'they do seating jobs and their phyisical activity is very less' is grammatically weak. These errors are persistent and occasionally impede the reader's ability to follow the argument smoothly. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement and punctuation.
