Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. The ideas are relevant, covering variety and time-saving as benefits, and health and financial costs as drawbacks. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The explanation regarding social media trends and 'looking cool' is a bit tangential and detracts from the main argument about convenience. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments could be more thoroughly explored to reach a higher band. The conclusion is brief but effectively summarizes the main points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs for pros and cons, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On one hand', 'In addition to that', and 'Moreover'. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'At last' to introduce a final point, and the use of semicolons is sometimes incorrect (e.g., 'however; its cause'). The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, but there are frequent errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'pros and cones' (pros and cons), 'convenient stores' (convenience stores), 'process food' (processed food), and 'axceious' (anxious). While the student attempts to use a range of vocabulary related to the topic, the persistent spelling and collocation errors suggest a limited control over more complex lexical items. More attention to accurate word forms and spelling is required.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('population prefer', 'most of the young one are having'), missing articles, and incorrect punctuation. For instance, 'its cause numerous health issues' should be 'it causes'. These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they do not completely prevent the reader from understanding the intended message. A greater focus on basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction is needed.
