Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. The ideas are relevant, such as time-saving benefits and health risks. However, the development is uneven. The argument regarding health risks is supported by a specific example, but the claim about 700 deaths linked to a specific brand is factually questionable and lacks a logical connection to the general topic of convenience food. Furthermore, the conclusion is very brief and fails to summarize the main points effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are accurate and that the conclusion provides a more comprehensive summary of the arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To commence with', 'Additionally', and 'Further shifting towards'. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Further shifting towards the demerits'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. The final paragraph is underdeveloped, which impacts the overall coherence of the piece. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong concluding sentence would enhance the logical progression of the essay.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'predominant', 'culinary', and 'exponentially'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'resorts having variety' (likely meaning restaurants) and 'heavy strain on a household'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the word choice is occasionally imprecise. To improve, focus on learning natural collocations and ensuring that words are used in the correct context to convey meaning more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include missing articles ('in todays corporate world'), subject-verb agreement issues ('convenience food had artificial preservatives'), and awkward phrasing ('as result of eating this all over the India'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for article usage would be highly beneficial.
