Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on convenience food. However, the development is quite superficial. The use of a numbered list format is inappropriate for an IELTS essay, which requires formal, cohesive paragraphs. While the ideas provided (e.g., accessibility, health concerns, food quality) are relevant, they are presented as brief notes rather than fully developed arguments. To achieve a higher band, you must expand these points into full sentences and paragraphs, providing deeper analysis and examples to support your position. The introduction and conclusion are also underdeveloped and lack a clear, formal structure.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay lacks a formal structure. The use of a numbered list for the body paragraphs significantly disrupts the flow and coherence of the text. There is a lack of effective cohesive devices to link ideas; the transition between the introduction, the list of points, and the conclusion is abrupt. Paragraphing is not used effectively, as the essay is essentially a collection of fragmented points rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, you should use linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'on the other hand') and organize your thoughts into well-structured paragraphs with clear topic sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and non-standard collocations, such as 'cost is touching to skies' and 'chronical diseases'. The repetition of simple words and the informal tone (e.g., 'take and bake') hinder the overall quality. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. You should focus on learning more academic collocations and synonyms to replace basic terms and improve the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that affect the readability of the text. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Good food help you'), incorrect tense usage, and run-on sentences that lack proper punctuation. The sentence structures are largely simple or repetitive, with few attempts at complex grammatical forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the list section. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb forms, and using a wider variety of complex structures with greater accuracy.
