Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent time, some individual depend on restaurants and convenience food as compared to home made food for their daily meals. In this eassy i will discuss about benfits and disadvantage of outsiede packaged and grozen food.

To commence with some peopel prefer to eat outside food from restaurants or other food stores because in this time mostly people are spend their time in the work and due to busy sechdeule they depend on forezen or packaged food. In this way thay can save to their cooking time and spend at any other work. Moreover frozen food expire after a some more days as compared to homemade food and due to this some people are prefer to outsie food.

On the other hand, few people are perfer to home made food because packaged food is more expensive rather than home made food and due to this people spend their more salary in food. other reason is frozen or packaged food is not good for our health in daily routines because these types of modern food are make by a lot of perseratives and chemicals and it these types of things are directly impact on our liver and stomach and due to this people are face lot of health related issue in their life like overweight for example, in my school time one of my best friend mostly ate outside packaged or frozen food that why he became overweight and he had also face stomach issue in their teenage life.

To conclusion, home-cooked meal is much better rather than outside packaged or frozen food because we can not only live our life healthy but also save money from expensive food. Altough in this time some individual depend on restaurants and food stores.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of relying on restaurants and convenience food. The writer presents a clear position throughout the essay. Ideas are extended and supported, such as mentioning the lack of time due to busy work schedules for the advantages, and health issues like weight gain for the disadvantages. However, some arguments suffer from generalisations or slight lapses in clarity, placing the response solidly in Band 6.0 according to the descriptors. For instance, the claim that 'frozen food expire after a some more days' is slightly confusing, but the overall task is addressed adequately with relevant ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, including an introduction, body paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. The writer uses basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclusion' (an error for 'In conclusion'). Referencing and transitions between sentences can be repetitive, particularly with phrases like 'and due to this'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to structure the response, but referencing is not always clear, which is characteristic of a Band 5.5 to 6.0 performance. A score of 6.0 is awarded as the overall organisation is clear despite mechanical cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'convenience food', 'preservatives', and 'overweight'. However, there are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, such as 'eassy' instead of essay, 'benfits' instead of benefits, 'forezen' instead of frozen, 'sechdeule' instead of schedule, and 'outsie' instead of outside. The use of 'make by a lot of perseratives' further demonstrates lexical limitations and spelling inaccuracies. While communication is not severely impeded, these frequent errors restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting structures such as conditional-like clauses and relative clauses (e.g., 'that why he became overweight'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('mostly people are spend'), tense errors ('food expire', 'are make'), and prepositional or article mistakes. Punctuation is also weak, particularly regarding run-on sentences connected by conjunctions like 'and due to this'. These frequent errors frequently cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning the grammar with the Band 5.0 descriptors.
