Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is true that most of individuals prefer to eat restaurant food rather than homemade food. Although this brings some benefits for people lives, i believe that demerits are manifold of this happening.

On the one hand, there are several advantage attached with this phenomenon. First and foremost, these days, people are more busy in their work due to more competition in every field that is why they have no enough time to prepare food themselves, so it is convenient way to order food from restaurants which helps them not only save time but also feel mind relax because they have no budon to cook food for their families after completing office work. Apart from it, in modern era, poeple become foody person, they love to tasste different kind of foods which can possible distinct food by ordering food on different location on special ocassion.

On the other hand, i think there are multiferious disadvantage to order food from restaurant. First of all, restauarant food is nor healthy or hygenic because it makes with a lot of oil and not fresh vegetables which would not suitable for family heath because if they eat on regular basic they suffer from fatal disease such as obesity. Along with this, these food has less calcium, vitamins and proteins in turn of which their offspring face weakness and less energy in their bodies. In addition to it, it put burdon on their budget when they order food from restaurant because it would more expensive.

To conclude, while lives can become easier by ordering food from outsides, i think it harms the body and buget that is why it should be avoided.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: convenience and variety are benefits, while health and cost are drawbacks. The examples about busy workers saving time and regular restaurant meals contributing to obesity are relevant. This meets the task well, and the position that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits is clear in the introduction and conclusion. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the claims about meals lacking nutrients and children becoming weak would be stronger with a clearer explanation or a specific example. The discussion also focuses mainly on restaurant food, with less attention to frozen and packaged convenience meals. Developing these aspects more fully would make the response more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” helps the reader follow the argument, while “First and foremost” and “In addition to it” indicate supporting points. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. At times, however, the linking feels mechanical, and some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the progression less smooth. For example, the sentence about work competition, lack of time, ordering food, and feeling relaxed would be clearer if divided and the relationship between ideas made explicit. Use referencing more precisely and vary transitions so that connections feel natural rather than formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “convenient,” “competition,” “obesity,” “vitamins,” and “budget,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “manifold” and “phenomenon,” though some are not used naturally in context. Noticeable spelling and word-choice errors—such as “budon,” “poeple,” “hygenic,” and “foody person”—sometimes make the reader pause, while phrases like “distinct food” and “fatal disease” do not express the intended ideas accurately. Build a reliable set of collocations for food, health, and cost, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise, natural vocabulary would improve clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “while.” This shows some range, and the main argument remains understandable. However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “these food has” needs plural agreement, while “it makes with” lacks the correct passive construction; “most of individuals” also needs an article or a different structure. Capitalisation of “I” and punctuation around long sentences need attention as well. Practise building complex sentences in shorter, accurate units, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms before adding further clauses.
