Student answer (Band 6.0)

There is an increasing number of people who depends on proccessed food on a daily basis instead of home cooked meals for their families, these foods have many benefits Such as convenience for employers. as well as its drawbacks on peoples' health because its ingredients. From my prespective, I believe that fast food is incridabely delicious but its effects our health negatively.

On the one hand, the main advantage for both fast food and frozen food is convenience. Individuals can rely on them for eating or preparing a whole meal in less time. In other words, people who work for long hours feel too tired to be able to prepare a meal from scratch, and prefere to order a ready meal from restaurant, or prepare a frozen meal that will be ready to eat in short time. To illustrate, many people in Korea go to the supermarkets to pick up pre-cook noodles and eggs and prepare them inside the supermarket using microwaves and eat them within 10 minutes.

On the other hand, engineered food and fast food have many disadvantages in peoples' health and cause many diseases. In other words, Consuming excessive amount of fast and processed food can lead to obesity because of the ingredients that conatins lots of fats, as they developed to be incridibely tasty so that one's can never get enough. Consequently, This can trigger various diseases which combined kill millions of people every year.

In conclusion, eating on restaurants and using engieneered food can happen occassionaly, however people need to maintain a balanced diet and consume more fruits and vegetables and have a home cooked meals more often to have a better healthy lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view: convenience is the main advantage, while health effects are the main disadvantage. The explanation of why busy workers choose ready meals is relevant, and the Korean supermarket example makes the benefit more concrete. Your discussion of health risks also identifies a plausible link between high-fat processed food and obesity. However, the disadvantages are developed less fully: the claim that these foods cause diseases that “kill millions” is broad and would be stronger with a specific example or clearer explanation. The conclusion recommends a balanced diet, but could more directly weigh the advantages against the disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. The progression from convenience to health risks is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through relevant examples and paragraphing. To make the flow more consistently smooth, avoid relying on formulaic transitions such as repeated “In other words,” and improve links between claims. For example, the sentence about diseases could explain how obesity increases particular health risks, rather than moving abruptly from obesity to a broad claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “processed food,” “convenience,” “prepare a meal from scratch,” “obesity,” and “balanced diet.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and phrases such as “ready meal” and “long hours” suit the topic. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural expressions are noticeable, including “proccessed,” “prespective,” “engineered food,” and “effects our health.” Some repetition of “fast food” and “food” also limits flexibility. Aim to use accurate, natural collocations and distinguish clearly between restaurant meals and packaged or processed food. Proofreading spelling and word forms would make your vocabulary more reliable and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a result introduced by “Consequently.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some errors in agreement, sentence boundaries, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “people who depends” should be “people who depend,” while the opening sentence joins several independent ideas with commas and has inconsistent capitalization after “Such as.” In “prefer to order a ready meal from restaurant,” an article is needed before “restaurant.” The final sentence also has an awkward structure around “have a home cooked meals.” Work on separating complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and articles; this will help you express your ideas more cleanly while retaining complex structures.
