Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear personal preference for home-cooked food at the end and mention one disadvantage of restaurant meals: possible illness. However, the task asks for advantages and disadvantages of relying on restaurants and convenience food, and the response mainly describes restaurants and particular examples such as Pakistani food, Monal, and KFC. The advantages are not clearly explained, and the discussion of home cooking does not fully answer the question about both sides of this eating pattern. Several points are asserted rather than supported, such as saying restaurant food causes disease. The response is also 9 words below the 250-word minimum; the 11 words copied from the task prompt are not included in the count. Develop relevant advantages and disadvantages with clear reasons and examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has separate paragraphs and uses basic linking expressions such as “For instance,” “In addition,” and “Therefore,” which gives the reader some signposting. However, ideas are not arranged in a clear progression: the discussion moves from restaurants to Pakistani cuisine, then KFC, then health, and finally home cooking without consistently comparing the advantages and disadvantages. “On the other hand” is used where the relationship between ideas is not always a contrast, and the opening sentence joins two different points without clear punctuation. Improve the organisation by grouping advantages in one paragraph and disadvantages in another, then conclude with your view. Use references such as “this type of food” only when their meaning is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “restaurants,” “convenience food,” “frozen meals,” “home cooked food,” and “diseases,” so the general subject is understandable. There are also attempts at more specific examples, such as “food chain” and “surrounded by mountains.” However, vocabulary is repetitive and some word choices or combinations are inaccurate, including “restaurants food,” “suffering in different disease,” and “the biggest food chain.” Spelling errors such as “baryani” and “resturants” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing benefits and drawbacks—for example, terms for nutrition, cost, time-saving, and health risks—and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple subject–verb patterns, and the reader can usually identify the intended meaning. There are attempts to connect clauses, for example, “The people eat the meal from resturants and not going to walk,” but the structure is incomplete and the verb forms do not match. Agreement and verb-form errors occur frequently: “Every individual go,” “he provide,” and “He have” should use forms that agree with their subjects. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in the Pakistan” and the opening sentence, which runs two ideas together. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “because,” “although,” or “which.”
