Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response identifies a relevant advantage—saving time by avoiding cooking—and a disadvantage, health-related problems, so it is on topic. However, the task asks for both sides to be explained with reasons and examples, and the disadvantage is only named, not developed. The advantage is also supported mainly by general statements about busy schedules and easy availability; no specific example or explanation shows how these foods help people. The response is incomplete and contains only 105 words, below the required 250, leaving much of the task unanswered. To improve, explain each side in a separate developed paragraph and add a relevant example, such as the health effects of frequent processed-food consumption.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the topic, and “On the positive side” signals a shift to an advantage. The ideas about busy schedules, avoiding time in the kitchen, and food availability are broadly related. However, the response ends abruptly at “addicted to t,” so there is no completed discussion of the disadvantage or concluding progression. Connections between sentences are also sometimes unclear: “eventhough” introduces no contrasting clause, while “Inaddition” is attached to the following sentence. Develop a clear sequence—introduction, advantages, disadvantages, and conclusion—and use linking expressions only where their logical relationship is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “frozen food,” “packed meals,” “grocery items,” and “health related problems,” which makes the general subject understandable. There are also attempts to express ideas such as convenience and changing food habits. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “Escalating number of society,” “homely cooked food,” and “cheap prices.” Spelling and word-boundary errors such as “disadvatages,” “eventhough,” and “Inaddition” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise set of expressions for convenience and nutrition, and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and a longer sentence beginning “even though,” showing some effort to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect readability. For example, “Escalating number of society are” has problems with the noun phrase and subject–verb agreement, while “individuals doesnot want” and “They needs” show agreement errors. “People are consume their time” also uses an incorrect verb construction. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are unreliable, including the space before the full stop in the opening and the run-on presentation of several ideas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and basic verb patterns first, then combine ideas using correctly formed complex sentences.
