Student answer (Band 6.0)
Transportation is part our daily lives. It is very important to understand how to use it. Without, its very difficult to complete our daily tasks better & faster.
We have two options for our daily transportation.
Private vehicles Public transport.
We can have own a private car or truck depending our choice especially affordability. Owning a private vehicle has several benefits. Most people buy a private car for thinking about their budget & availability. Availability of vehicles is the most considered benefit of owning a private car rather then relying on public transport. Then privacy for their own family. But it cost monthly and yearly maintenance.
Owning private car if has benefits then its has disadvantages also. Due to increased numbers in private cars issue for traffic jams, accidents & road maintenance increasing day by day. It also increasing the demand of fuel & its price hike. I have my own car. I used to use it only when I need to go but also facing its maintenance, insurance & fines which is extra burden for my monthly budget also adding negative impact on our lives because Its is increasing the air pollution, noise pollution
I am living in UAE, where i was used to use public transport. Region like middle east like UAE, KSA, Qatar, Bahrain etc has world best & efficient & better public transport system than private.
If we use public transport rather then owning a private car, it will have positive impact on our daily lives in shape of reducing air quality, less noise pollution & less demand of fuel & last traffic jams issues.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the effects of car reliance and whether these are positive or negative. However, the development is limited. While you mention benefits like convenience and privacy, and drawbacks like traffic and pollution, these points are presented as a list rather than being fully extended with detailed explanations or examples. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth. To improve, you should focus on expanding each point with a specific example or a logical consequence to demonstrate a more thorough understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as 'Then privacy for their own family' or 'If we use public transport rather then owning a private car'. The transition between ideas is often abrupt, and the lack of linking words makes the flow feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, you should use a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to connect your sentences and ideas more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'reducing air quality' (when you mean 'improving' or 'reducing air pollution') and 'rather then' (should be 'rather than'). You also rely on simple phrasing like 'very important' and 'very difficult'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'urban congestion', 'environmental degradation', or 'financial burden', and ensure you are using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include missing articles ('part our daily lives'), incorrect verb forms ('I was used to use'), and punctuation errors (e.g., '&' used instead of 'and'). Sentence fragments like 'Private vehicles Public transport' also disrupt the flow. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct use of articles, and avoiding informal abbreviations. Ensure that every sentence has a clear subject and a main verb to improve overall accuracy.
