Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this fast paced world cars are playing significant role in commute to reach on destination in few minutes or hours. This statement has both affects on human life because people can move one place to another place easily without waiting long time but other side it has increase the traffic congestion as well as pollution in country which directly has impact on people life. I will explain the both sides in the following paragraphs:-
Firstly, people has benefit of utilising their valuable time through cars because in the past, individuals did not have their private vehicle and they had to travel in buses and train which took long time to reach on place as well as sometimes people had miss the bus that affect on their fear of losing jobs or lost crucial things but now they have not think about anything so folks can use their own vehicle to reach on place timely. Secondly, in any emergency they can go immediately without waiting for services from others in any time. For example, in last month my grandmother had heart attack at night so we immediately took her at the hospital without waiting for ambulance.
On the other hand side, if anything has benefits it has also negative side effects . It has a huge cause to environment because nowadays everyone owns a private vehicle which means more cars more pollution that directly effects on air which cause people health like asthma, heart attacks and many more. Moreover, traffic also a part of it and more accidents can be happened if more cars on roads this is because people cannot get space easily may be they will collapse.
In conclusion, private vehicle has advantages such as no more time waste on waiting buses to travel From one place to another but it has also some disadvantages that not only affect the environment but also affect the human life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying both the ways reliance on cars affects life and providing a balanced view of the positive and negative effects. The ideas are relevant, such as the convenience of personal transport versus the environmental and health impacts. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the discussion on traffic congestion and accidents is brief and could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear throughout, but the overall depth of the argument is more characteristic of a Band 6.0, as some points are stated rather than fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'On the other hand side'. Additionally, there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother; for example, the transition between the benefits of time-saving and the emergency situation example is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs could be more cohesive to improve the overall logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'traffic congestion', 'emergency', and 'environment'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'reach on destination', 'has increase', and 'more accidents can be happened'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the range and precision of the language. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on more natural collocations and a wider variety of vocabulary to express complex ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('people has benefit', 'everyone owns... which mean'), article usage, and prepositional errors ('reach on place', 'effects on air'). Some sentences are also slightly awkward in their construction, such as 'this is because people cannot get space easily may be they will collapse'. These errors are noticeable and occur frequently, though they rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended message. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be beneficial.
