Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, It is common to see that people use personal's vehicles instead of using public transportation. This trend also have significant affect because of traffic congestion on the roads and also make people lazy.

The first reason behind this is that people also face the traffic jam problems at roads during commuting to their work. This is because if everybody is using their private cars, the more cars will shown up on the roads and also increase the risk of accidents too. For example, In Mumbai, most people often travelled in their luxury cars and ended up with waiting so longs on the roads. On the other hands, if people prefer to go at work by public transpotation, it will not save only their time but also save other resources like fuel, diseal and so on. This trend can also leads in increase of fuel prices in future. As a result, this development will not good for the government as well for people because of incline in taxes and prices too.

The another reason is people most rely on their transport which make them more lazy. The reason, for public transpotation, people have to walk to get access and to reach at their work. In this modern era, nobody have time to go for a walk, some steps everyday atleast burn their calories and get some fresh air. People find travelling by own vehicle more convienient, the result for this is not good. They face also health problem at early age. For instances, In Japan country, the government implemented the rules where you cannot take your personal cars in the city. Either you can walk or take public buses and the buses services also far so people easily walk. The goal for this to make their population healthy and diseases free. Therefore, it not only reduce the air pollution but also good for development of people.

In conclusion, traffic jams and laziness affect the people's lives because of depending more on private cars instead of using metro, tarins.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways reliance on cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. You clearly identify negative impacts, such as traffic congestion and sedentary lifestyles. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. For instance, the link between fuel prices and government taxes is a bit tangential and could be better explained. While you provide examples like Mumbai and Japan, some of these are slightly underdeveloped or contain minor inaccuracies in context. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point directly supports your main argument and provides a more logical progression of thought.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'The first reason', 'The another reason', and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the use of linking words is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'The another reason' (should be 'Another reason') or 'For instances' (should be 'For instance'). Additionally, some sentences are slightly disjointed, making the flow feel a bit repetitive. Improving the variety of your transition signals and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this development') is always clear will help improve the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'traffic congestion', 'sedentary', 'implemented', and 'public transportation'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'transpotation', 'diseal', 'tarins', and 'convienient'. Some phrases are also slightly awkward, such as 'personal's vehicles' instead of 'private vehicles' or 'most rely' instead of 'rely mostly'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do limit the precision of your expression. Expanding your vocabulary and focusing on correct spelling will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('This trend also have', 'cars will shown up'), article misuse, and awkward phrasing ('will not good', 'the buses services also far'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and capitalization. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors indicates that you are not yet in full control of complex structures. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will significantly improve your accuracy.
